Thoughts on Debra in the ICU

As I sit here in ICU, I want shake Mom. 

Dammit. You are one of the most irrepressible creatures I know. Your first daughter-in-law said that you were "too mean to die" and "would out-live us all." Matt is tough as Hell because of the way you treated him. I missed a week of school at your right hand. 

Wake. The. Fuck. Up. 

Dad needs you. Pony up. Be a big girl. Live for somebody else, because that's what really defines human... The ability to understand the needs of another. 

Matt needs you. We all need you, gods-fucking-dammit. 

Put on your Big Girl Pants and Come. Back. 

Weird World

I work as a teacher in an Ohio high school. I have no access to a drug locker.  However, if I posted to social media that I needed a Xanax, I would be chased out the door before the pixels dried on my post. 

If I were working in the medical field, however, would anybody give a fuck?
